Italian cycling brand Selle Royal is celebrating a trio of design accolades for its latest product, the e-bike specific eZone saddle.
Having won a Design and Innovation Award and an iF Design Award already this year, the e-bike saddle has triumphed at the latest Red Dot Design Awards, taking home a win for product design.
Launched last October, eZone is the result of the first comprehensive study of e-bike users, which the brand conducted in collaboration with designers at BMW Group subsidiary Designworks. The study identified a number of performance characteristics from e-bike users that could benefit from an e-bike-specific saddle design.
“This year, we received submissions from 59 countries. [Selle Royal has] every reason to be proud of your award as you came out on top in a comparison with the best in the industry,” said Red Dot founder and president Dr Peter Zec.
