The Gadget Show, as featured on Five, has been shown an electric tricycle prototype, dubbed the Enicycle, which has hope of reaching the market this year.
The self-balancing unicycle is powered by a brushless hub motor capable of reaching 15 km/h and carrying the passenger 30 kilometer per five-hour charge.
The device is steered by foothold on either side of the wheel, while the electronic gyroscope used to keep it upright accelerates if the rider leans forward to bring it back in balance. (and vice versa – decelerates if leant back)
