See.Sense unveils new kickstarter lights

See.Sense has launched two new bike lights on Kickstarter, the Beam and the Icon2.

The Beam weighs under 100 grams, comes with a 700 lumen LED and a 30 hour runtime.

The Icon2 has 300 lumens in the rear light and 400 lumens in the front, with each light weighing under 50 grams and giving 16 hours of runtime in full power reactive flash mode.

Philip McAleese, CEO and co-founder of See.Sense, said: “Launching both Beam and Icon2 is a sign of how far See.Sense has come as a company, and how committed we are to making cycling better for everyone.

“We’re not content creating just another bike light. Instead, we’re developing intelligent products that benefit cyclists, our roads, and our environment, all with the aim to get more people cycling more often.”

The company has said that the Beam light is able to "evaluate a cyclist’s situation, including their speed and the light levels around them, to automatically adjust brightness and maximise battery runtime".

Its battery is rechargeable via a micro USB and it also has a ‘Get Me Home Mode’.

Each Icon2 light contains two different types of LEDS, makes riders visible up to three kilometres away and ensures they have 270 degrees of side visibility. 

It can also adjust brightness levels to conserve battery life.

Both lights come with the accompanying See.Sense mobile app that lets riders receive low-battery and theft alerts, send crash notifications to an emergency contact, and control and customise the light’s brightness and flash pattern.

Both lights can also be paired with cycling head units using ANT+.

The lights can now be pre-ordered on Kickstarter until 20th December, separately or as part of a set, and have a delivery date of mid-2019.
