Scope Cycling adds XDR freehubs to product portfolio

Scope Cycling has announced the launch of two new freehub bodies, to meet the compatibility requirements of SRAM’s newly released 12 speed eTap AXS groupset.

SRAM developed the AXS platform to provide its customers with more options when choosing a groupset for their bikes, Scope has said, but to run a SRAM 12 speed eTap AXS groupset a new freehub body is required.

The new XDR freehub body is based on SRAM’s existing XD freehub body technology but features a wider interface. It is intended for use on road and gravel bikes. For use on mountain bikes, the XD freehub body will remain the main option.

Due to the specific built of its R series and O2 hubs, Scope has developed two XDR freehub bodies. Both feature a 1.85mm wider interface than the existing two XD models and come with a spacer ring to allow for the mounting of both SRAM 12 speed XDR as well as 11 speed XD and 12 speed XD cassettes. The R series XDR freehub body features a different engagement system than the O2 XDR freehub body, and Scope has said they are not interchangeable.

The Scope XDR freehub bodies will be available from the end of March.

Scope cycling products are still available through Oneway Distribution. The b2b webshop is open 24/7 a week or via telephone 0031 10 34 03504.
