Bicycle and components label keen to make ground outside the US

Sampson seeking UK distribution partner

USA bicycle and components label Sampson is seeking representation in the UK, the firm has told BikeBiz.

Founder Eric Sampson told BikeBiz how in the meantime it has been keeping busy with developing its latest high-end road pedals, shown below.

These are the Stratics Carbon and Carbon Ti – both carrying a large 66mm contact patch based around the firm’s new ‘No-Rock’ cleat. Offering micro adjustable tension, fully sealed bearings, a polished steel wear plate and long strand carbon fibre body the ti axled version weighs in at just 97 grams. A Cro-mo axle version comes in at 122 grams per set.

Further to these, Sampson has also introduced a pedal it calls the FS, set for June delivery. The FS is short for Full Spectrum and will adjust through three planes. If you’re in the area, this unit will be shown at the Handmade Bicycle Show.

Sampson said of the FS: "Given the focus on fitting by Specialized, Shimano, Cannondale, and more coming soon, we expect our FS to be welcomed by fitters and performance riders. With standard three hole and our cleat you can obtain 7-10 mm lateral, up to 20 mm fore/aft, and up to 1/2 inch of stack/angle adjustment for pronation/supination or leg length variance."
