Saddleback has signed up as official distributor for LeMond Fitness products to the UK cycle industry.
LeMond fitness has recently released its first cycle-specific product – the LeMond Revolution trainer.
Performance orientated distributor Saddleback was the perfect fit for LeMond, according to the firm. The brand is targeting the triathlon, road cycling and mountain biking sectors with its range.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Saddleback at such an exciting time for the brand," said John Kennedy, director of international sales for LeMond Fitness. "They have a proven track record of giving great representation to the brands they distribute and are very well respected in the cycle sport market. We feel they will be a great fit for all our brand stands for and the timing is perfect to partner with them.”
Saddleback will distribute the LeMond Revolution, Power Pilot Meter and accessories.
Saddleback director Andy Wigmore enthused: “We are delighted to become the official UK distributor of LeMond Fitness next generation bike trainers. From the beginning LeMond Fitness made it very clear they wanted to work with us and showed great confidence in our ability to deliver a great service.”
“We have been looking for sometime to include a high- end bike trainer brand in to our portfolio, as we see it as a direct compliment to the large market share we already have in elite performance cycling sector. With LeMond Fitness’ breakthrough design the brand will be great for UK athletes and dealers alike. The LeMond Fitness LeMond Revolution trainer will be available from Saddleback in early December.”
Greg LeMond, LeMond Fitness founder and three-time Tour de France champion, said of the trainer: "This is a gigantic leap forward for indoor trainers.
"The LeMond Revolution’s direct drive technology gives the experience that riders have on the road, only now you can get it in the convenience of your living room. Our new trainer features a highly-engineered, weighted flywheel that is designed to replicate the inertia of a rolling bicycle, something we call High-Inertia Technology (HIT). Just like when riding on the road, the LeMond Revolution permits you to coast or freewheel, while its HIT delivers progressive wind resistance just like in real-world outdoor conditions. The design creates a smooth, natural feel while pedaling and eliminates inertia lag when the rider slows down or changes gears.
"Compared to traditional roller-based trainers, the Revolution represents the difference between riding on the road, on a great bike, on a great day and riding your bike with a flat tire, uphill, in sand. Who wants to ride in those conditions?"
