Not just another bollocks Kickstarter project ...

Saddle-swinging scrotum-inspired LED light seeks Kickstarter backing

Many of the bicycle projects on Kickstarter are absolute bollocks but it takes a special kind of awesome for a bunch of industrial designers to cup the testicular theme in their hands and run with it. Scott Bodaly and his crew from Toronto sure have balls – Bike Balls.

This LED light, fashioned from silicone, is reminiscent of a smooth scrotum, and when attached to saddle rails, bobs and bounces to attract attention. Bodaly has placed the scrotal-sack-a-like LED light on Kickstarter and is seeking pledges totalling at least $11,784 (Can). A short video for the project features a woman riding in the city with a Bike Balls light bouncing along to Ave Maria.

Bodaly’s Kickstarter says:

"As cyclists who regularly ride in the city, we are vulnerable to distracted and neglectful drivers. We wanted to do something to change that and have some fun while doing so. Bike Balls are more visible and noticeable than your average bike light, making you more safe and confident as you ride through the city streets at night.

"It takes grit, wit, and huge balls to ride in the city so show ’em what you got!"

How do you turn on a scrotum-inspired bike light? "Gently squeeze the Balls to turn the light on and switch between the modes. Gently squeeze again to turn the Bike Balls off."

There are 41 backers so far, with 33 days of the crowdfunding campaign remaining.
