Italian eyewear brand Rudy Project has introduced Astral Arc, a new performance sunglasses model designed for cycling, trail running, triathlon and outdoor sport.
Weighing 31g, Astral Arc has been developed around a new cylindrical lens geometry intended to improve comfort, stability and fit across a wider range of face shapes.
The new model features a base 6 cylindrical lens, an adjustable nosepiece and soft, flexible temples, with Rudy Project positioning the eyewear for both daily training and longer endurance events.
The frame is made from Rilsan Clear, a bio-based polymer containing 45% material derived from castor oil sourced through certified supply chains. Rudy Project said the material choice supports its wider focus on responsible product development while maintaining the performance requirements of outdoor athletes.
Astral Arc is supplied with a mirrored polycarbonate lens and is available with a category 3 filter. The lens is designed to provide UV protection and protection from flying debris, while supporting clear vision when riding or running in changing light conditions.
The eyewear is also compatible with Rudy Project’s RX optical insert, allowing users who require vision correction to add prescription lenses without changing the overall design of the glasses.
Rudy Project said Astral Arc has been developed to provide protection, comfort and optical clarity across training and competition, from technical trails to long days on the road.
Astral Arc is available in seven standard colourways, alongside one limited-edition version, via Rudy Project’s website. The recommended retail price is €149.90.
