Sports and eyewear brand Rudy Project has confirmed a sponsor relationship for 2017 with the Trek-Segafredo cycling team. As official sunglasses partner, Rudy Project will provide athletes and staff with eyewear and prescription solutions.
For the occasion, Rudy Project has redesigned Tralyx Sunglasses to feature the Trek-Segafredo team colours and logo. The riders will use these during competitions and trainings. Tralyx uses RP Optics Multilaser and ImpactX2 unbreakable photochromic lens technology.
After the races, during podium ceremony and events, the team will wear special edition lifestyle Spinhawk sunglasses.
Cristiano Barbazza, president of Rudy Project, said: “This sponsorship represents an important investment for our company. We are proud to strengthen our involvement in pro-cycling backing a UCI World Tour Team such as Trek-Segafredo. Rudy Project and Trek-Segafredo are international brands [that share] an innate passion for racing at the highest level.”
“Rudy Project is one of the best eyewear companies in the world," said Luca Guercilena, general manager of Trek-Segafredo. "I am really happy to partner up with them for the upcoming season. Rudy Project is, of course, not new to cycling – they have built impressive experience in the cycling world. I am sure they will be able to offer us not only the best product but also the best support possible for our riders.”
