Rockstar Games sponsors NY cycle race

Rockstar Games is set to sponsor New York’s Harlem Cycling Classic, further adding fuel to previous suggestions that the games developer may be interested in making a cycling game.

When rumours about a new biking title were investigated by BikeBiz’s sister title Develop, the publisher denied that it has plans to produce a title for any particular cycling niche.

Professional mountain biker Steve Romaninuk was rumoured to have been spotted at the Grand Theft Auto developers office back in February.

According to Michael French, editor in chief of Develop: "The logo on www.skyscraper-harlembikerace.com/ is the pink Rockstar Logo, which oddly is the logo for their development studio in London."

The developer leaked its involvement with the cycle race sponsorship on its Twitter account – @rockstargames.

For those on Twitter, keep an eye on BikeBiz staff accounts @marksuttonbike, @carltonreid and @jonharker for more news as it unfolds.
