French sports goods retailer Decathlon has made plenty of waves over the past 24 months, with a successful global rebrand, and the introduction of not one but two pro-level bike brands, in the form of Van Rysel and Rockrider.
No half measure here, with both road and MTB brands being raced by elite level athletes at the top of the sport – racing WorldTour and UCI XCO World Cup series respectively.
This week has seen the arrival of Decathlon Ford Racing Team’s new whip for the season ahead, coming in the form of a Rockrider Race 940 S Pro Team.
Sharing the news via LinkedIn and Instagram, Luis Moro González, MTB product manager in Rockrider and MTB sponsorship coordinator with Decathlon Ford Racing Team, comments: “We’re proud to unveil the new Rockrider Race 940 S Pro Team, crafted to elevate our riders’ potential and push the boundaries of what’s possible in XCO racing.”

As you’d expect for a XCO WC team bike, the Rockrider Race 940 S Pro Team is fully tricked out, with SRAM group providing drivetrain and brakes, Zipp wheelset, and RockShox dropper post, and suspension components. Here Moro González points out that the bike is “Equipped with Flight Attendant technology (ensuring) this bike delivers unparalleled reactivity and adaptability, adjusting to every terrain in real time.”
The post further highlights that the Rockrider Race 940 S Pro Team has been “Designed in close collaboration between Decathlon engineers and the exceptional athletes of the Decathlon Ford Racing Team”.
In keeping with ‘new bike day’ the team has also showcased new kit for the upcoming 2025 season, with Girona based apparel partner, Tactic Sports.
For the buying public, the 2025 bike has received plenty of media coverage, with a certain Guy Kesteven, the testerman, liking what he found when putting the bike through its paces.
