There was a rise of 4.9 percent in the amount of international visitors attracted to the Taipei Cycle show, reports the show’s owner. The show wrapped on March 8th after having attracted a total of 7,529 international visitors from 107 countries.
One of the press conferences held at this year’s show was for Velo City 2016, the annual cycle advocacy conference, which will be held in Taipei. Velo City is owned by the European Cyclists’ Federation. At the press conference, the major of Taipei City said that the five-year old U-bike public bike share scheme – kick-started by Giant – "has become an icon for Taipei." ECF chairman Manfred Neun said Taipei had been chosen as the first Asian city to host a Velocity conference because of its industry connection, public enthusiam for cycling, and strong government support.
Next year’s Taiwan Cycle will be held March 18 to 21 at Nangang Exhibition Hall, TWTC Hall 1 & Hall 3.
