Event features a Purchasable Exhibition of Treasures, a pre-1986 bike ride and bespoke jerseys from Santini

Retro-themed L’Eroica Britannia begins today

L’Eroica Britannia 2015 launches today and runs across the weekend in Bakewell in the Peak District.

It features three days of music, food, shopping and (of course) cycling. On Sunday there’ll be a three route tour of the Peak District with 3,000 riders on pre-1987 bikes.

Sponsors include Brooks and Santini – the latter has produced a special edition jersey in honour of the event in British racing green. It’s part of a wider collection the brand has put together for L’Eroica, for which it drew inspiration from its vast archive, it said.

The Purchasable Exhibition of Treasures (PET) is the most creative way we’ve ever heard of describing a bike expo, which is no bad thing. At L’Eroica the PET will featuring vintage sellers and a huge Bike Jumble sale, among others.
