Restrap Launches Rolltop Hydration Vest

Restrap has announced the launch of its newest product, the Rolltop Hydration vest.

2025 has been a big year of product releases for us. Hot on the heels of our reworked saddle pack and bar bags and our new Switch Panniers is something a little different. This is one of those products that we made because we wanted it and thanks to our in-house made-in-the-UK approach, we could.

When first developed, we saw the Rolltop Hydration Vest as potentially being a relatively niche product, combining the functionality of our Race Hydration Vest with extra carrying capacity for bikepacking and riding in the most remote locations: think the Highland Trail, Atlas Mountains or Tour Divide. Our pre-production versions have already ticked off all of the above, as well Alpine singletrack hunting to dawn peak bagging – Restrap

According to the brand, the Rolltop Hydration Vest has more than lived up to its expectations. So much so that “all of the features that make it so great in the mountains also bring practical functionality to commuting and multi-sport activities.”

Here are further details from the release:

There are times when it’s more comfortable or practical to carry larger loads on your back. Capitalising on the huge success of our original Race Hydration Vest, the Rolltop Hydration Vest takes the same comfortable structure, accessible front storage pockets and 2L hydration bladder that won us a Design and Innovation Award in 2024, then combines it with a larger capacity, fully waterproof rear.

Super stable – even when filled to its 14L capacity – the Rolltop Hydration Vest is perfect for the most adventurous bikepacking trips. It is also the ideal companion for big days out in the mountains, where being safe means packing the layers, tools and spares for complete self-sufficiency. Add to that the benefits of a lighter bike, and you have the perfect tool for wringing as much fun as possible out of every descent, regardless of how much you need to carry.

Fit

In addition to being available in two sizes (S/M and L/XL), the Rolltop Hydration Vest prioritises comfort with three points of adjustment – sides, shoulders, and chest. This allows flexibility for fitting over layers and changing loads over the course of a long ride. Your load will stay stable and move with your body, no matter how rough the terrain you are covering, and absolutely no annoying knocking on the back of your helmet while descending.

The Rolltop Hydration Vest is a gender-neutral design and has been developed with – and tested by – all genders and a range of body shapes.

Carry what you want – where you want

The Vest features stretch pockets on both the front and rear. Store snacks, a multitool or even a soft bottle at the front of the pack, up to a 500ml bottle on each of the sides and the larger rear stretch pocket is perfect for stowing a waterproof jacket, for those days where the weather can’t make up its mind – saving you the effort of opening the main compartment, but also keeping the rest of the contents dry. The main compartment is fully lined and 100% waterproof, thanks to its rolltop closure and tape-sealed construction.

The front also features an expandable zip pocket with a key clip inside, for quick access to valuables like a phone.

A water bladder drops into an expandable lining, and the shoulder straps feature ambidextrous hose routing. A magnetic keeper clip keeps the hose and bite valve out of the way (but still to hand) when not in use.

We use reflective zip pulls, logos, and webbing detailing to enhance visibility from all angles. When it comes to safety in the mountains, one of the chest clips features a whistle; one of those items that is sometimes part of the compulsory kit list for ultra races.

Available in two sizes: Small/Medium & Large/XL
Weight: (without bladder) Small/Medium – 588g, Large/XL – 600g
Bladder weight: 146g
Capacity: 14L with 2L Bladder Capacity
RRP: £189.99 / €227.99 / $264.99
