By now we’re all familiar with the lattice-work-like approach to the 3D printed saddle, so when Repente decided that wasn’t what they wanted, the Nomad 3D was the outcome.
Repente has, in its own words, “taken the concept of technical padding to a higher level, introducing 3D printed padding with a homogeneous surface, combining the performance of additive technology with the functionality and aesthetics of a covered saddle”.
Nomad 3D aims to address what the Italian brand sees as “a concrete need: to get the most out of 3D printing without the disadvantages of saddles with exposed lattice structures”.

Designed and produced in Italy, Nomad 3D was developed to offer calibrated and differentiated support capable of preventing pain and discomfort even after many hours in the saddle.
We’re told that the density of the padding has been modulated to adapt to various pressure zones. Under the sit bones, the material is more rigid to ensure stability and structural support. In the soft tissue areas, the density is reduced to provide superior flexibility and improve load distribution.
Three areas have been identified, each corresponding to different morphologies and densities of the 3D internal structure.

Particular attention has been given to the central anatomical channel, designed to effectively relieve perineal pressure. Here the combination of structural cavity and thinning of the 3D mesh minimizes nerve and blood vessel compression, promoting a more comfortable, numb-free ride even on long or technical routes.
Whilst none of this is revolutionary, in fact sounds distinctly familiar in the world of 3D printed saddles, what is very different, indeed stands out, is the surface of the Nomad.
Functionality and durability
Unlike first-generation 3D saddles, Nomad 3DÂ does not expose the honeycomb structure. The smooth and homogeneous surface makes the saddle more compact and resistant and does not hinder the cyclist’s movement.Â
The closed structure of the padding also reduces the risk of damage from impacts, abrasions, or accidental snags and does not wear out the inside of the shorts.
RLS: replaceable rails and shell

The carbon unidirectional shell and rail are – as is uniquely Repente – independent, and can therefore be replaced separately – a feature that facilitates product maintenance and, in case of damage, reduces costs and waste material.
Crisp white: Retro and modern meet

From an aesthetic point of view, Nomad 3D maintains a sober and clean profile, in line with the taste of those who prefer an elegant and essential look. The pearl white colour adds a touch of sophistication: in the light, the saddle reveals the internal lattice pattern, creating a unique and distinctive visual effect for the bike’s aesthetic.
