Remec of Slovenia becomes Elan Bikes of Slovenia

Remec manufactures 150 000+ bikes per annum, mostly destined for Eastern Europe under various brand names. The new firm – Elan Bikes – has taken over an established bike manufacturing plant in Ljubliana which will continue to supply the Remec-designed carbon fibre World Cup and Downhill Pro, the Freeride, 4X and Cross Country frames as well as all new aluminium range of frames and complete bikes. First stocks of these are expected in UK in November with prices starting at £499 retasil for entry level, up to £3799 for the full on World Cup Carbon.

Symon Folland of Mountain Bike Racing Ltd, the UK importer of Remec bikes said:

“This is a very big news for us as UK importer and Remec in Slovenia. My colleague David Morgan has already been out to Slovenia to see the new facility and came back very impressed with the new facilities and by the enthusiasm of all the Elan people. Elan have already purchased a new Haas CNC machine so they can bring all aspects of their frame production in-house."

Mountain Bike Racing’s team bikes will be badged as Elan’s for the first time at this weekends National Championships.
