Rehook to shift focus to retailer sales

The company behind Rehook, a cycling tool designed to get a chain back on a bike, has said it is starting to focus on retailer sales.

The tool was on Dragons’ Den at the end of August, where Wayne Taylor, business owner and inventor, received five offers.

Around 18,000 Rehooks have now been sold, primarily via Amazon.

“Before the Den, I was working on the business in the evenings and at the weekend,” said Taylor. “We have made so much progress since working on it fulltime, so can now look at offering Rehook to retailers.

“We already have some large chains of cycle stores starting to stock the product, and are getting a lot of orders from independent cycle shops ahead of the Christmas rush.”

The tool is now available as a retailer trial pack. The pack comes with a countertop display box and ten Rehooks.

“With most customers previously settling to find a stick or carrying disposable nitrile gloves, Rehook makes the process of refitting a chain much simpler and cleaner,” said a statement. “It can reach into small gaps that fingers can’t reach and make a multitude of chain-related tasks and jams much simpler to resolve.”

“Helping to keep frames free from scratches and abrasion and mech’s clear of debris. Rehook’s unique patented design keeps oil and dirt away from your hands and clothes, making it the perfect addition to every cycle tool kit.

“Ideal for dropped chains, maintenance and when changing a tyre. It can attach to a bike frame and is surprisingly lightweight and easy to use.”
