BikeBiz has announced the appointment of Rebecca Bland as staff writer, effective from 16th February.

Bland joins the title with over six years of experience in cycling journalism, having contributed to a variety of titles, including Autocar, Farrelly Atkinson, and Eurosport. Before moving into journalism, she held roles within the NHS and as a social media manager, later working as a freelance journalist within the cycling industry and as a frequent contributor to BikeBiz.

In her new full-time role, she will split her time between BikeBiz and MicromobilityBiz. The appointment comes as the brand prepares to launch a new event that aligns closely with the micromobility sector.

In addition to news and feature writing for both digital and print, Bland will take over lead research for the BikeBiz Podcast, supporting host Pedro in guest recruitment and episode development.

Lauren Jenkins, editor of BikeBiz, said:

“I am really happy to have Rebecca join the team full-time. Having worked with her previously in a freelance capacity, I know she has the drive to find the stories that matter to our readers. As we look ahead to a busy year of events and new projects across both titles, her industry knowledge will be a massive asset.

I’m looking forward to seeing her grow and put her own stamp on things, working with our audience to build our platform and supporting the team to keep BikeBiz up to date. It will be exciting to see what her perspective and experience will bring to the team.”

Rebecca Bland added:

It’s an exciting time to join the BikeBiz team, and to begin reporting on the bike industry in general and I can’t wait to get stuck in.

Editorial Team Update

The appointment follows the departure of Simon Cox, who is moving on from the brand to pursue new opportunities. BikeBiz thanks Simon for his contribution and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

Editor Lauren added:

“I’m so grateful to Simon for his contribution to the title since I started. It’s been a pleasure working alongside him and for everything he’s brought to BikeBiz. I hope this isn’t goodbye for good, but if working together has taught me anything, and something I’ll be continuing to strive for, ‘progress, not perfection, something we worked towards together in the pursuit of building a better BikeBiz.”
