Ram raiders steal four Bromptons from London shop; reward offered

Thieves have ram-raided Balfe’s Bikes of Dulwich and snatched four Brompton folding bikes. The shop is offering a £300 reward for information that could lead to the recovery of the bikes or prosecution of the thieves.

The raid happened yesterday morning at 6am at Balfe’s Bikes, 36 East Dulwich Road, SE22 9AX.

The bikes taken are:

  • Grey 3-speed M-type frame number: 580767
  • Grey 6-speed M-type frame number: 581059
  • Red / titanium 2-speed S type with the words DEMO on it. Frame number 571598
  • Blue (tempest) 3-speed M-type Frame number 576603

The crime reference number is 3019246/17.

"[The thieves] smashed through the door and through the shutter on a moped," said shop owner Richard Balfe, "so in future we’ll be chaining the bikes inside the shop at night too, just to make it difficult for the buggers."
