Race Face Components Inc has been selected as "One of Canada's 50 Best Privately Managed Companies for 1999" by the nationally distributed National Post newspaper.

Race Face win major award. Are we next, ask Silverfish?!

"We’re very honored to have won this prestigious award," said Craig Pollack, President of Race Face. "We competed with private companies in Canada of all sizes and from varied industries. The judges at the National Post, CIBC, and Arthur Andersen thought that the innovative management

practices we employ here at Race Face were worthy of the award.

"Our commitment to having a participative management environment has been critical to our success. For example, our staff are given a high degree of authority and responsibility in making both micro and macro decisions in the company, and we share all of our financial information with every staff member.

The "50 Best" awards are open to all privately managed companies in Canada that are majority Canadian owned, have greater than $5 million in revenues, employ a staff of at least twenty five, and show steady sales and growth.

Race Face Bicycle Components Inc. employs 65 full-time employees and produces cranks, bottom brackets, chain-rings, seatposts, handlebars, headsets, stems, and a clothing range. Race Face is exported to 30 countries worldwide.

Darren Mabbott of UK importer Silverfish is chuffed about the award:

"It is fantastic to see that Race Face have won this award. It is of no suprise to us to see that they apply the same principles to the administrative side of their business as they do to the creative side. Indeed, having mirrored our management policies on those of Race Face it would appear an award for ourselves should not be too far in the distant future!"
