Quirk Cycles has opened orders for a strictly limited Founders’ Batch of its new road frame, marking the first chapter of the brand’s next phase. Alongside this, Quirk Cycles has also launched a bike developed with Rapha founder Simon Mottram, with the numbered collector’s edition is designed to be the perfect bike for covering the annual Manchester to London ride. Production is strictly limited to five individually commissioned framesets and each bike built supports Ambitious about Autism.

Limited to 25 frames worldwide, the Founders’ Batch introduces the Mamtor – a modern road bike developed with the same restraint, care, and depth that have defined Quirk for over a decade. This first release signals a shift from bespoke builds to small-batch production, while retaining complete design and manufacturing oversight in London.

The brand says the Mamtor is the bike you reach for first – not because of where you’re going, but because the ride matters more than the destination. Smooth tarmac, broken lanes, the last stretch home at speed – it holds the line so you don’t have to.

“Our bikes are for people who value how something is made as much as how it’s used.” – Rob Quirk, designer and founder of Quirk Cycles.

Built in London

Every Founders’ Batch Mamtor frame is built in London, with responsibility for design, fabrication, and finishing kept deliberately close. This proximity allows Quirk to maintain control, clarity, and accountability at every stage of the process.

The company introduces modern design and scalable processes – without losing identity, oversight, or control. Nothing is added for effect. Every decision serves the ride.

Founders’ Batch Orders Include:

  • A unique polished stainless steel Founders’ Batch head badge
  • Each frame individually numbered
  • Founders’ Build Notes documenting the thinking behind the Mamtor
  • An invitation to a private London workshop ride and evening

Manchester to London frameset

Built from the race-proven Quirk Durmitor platform, the M2L frame uses custom geometry refined for sustained speed and efficiency over long distances. Each frame is handmade in Quirk’s London workshop using Columbus Hyperion titanium tubing for low weight and elevated ride quality. A custom 3D-printed titanium seat post, developed exclusively for this edition, is tuned to increase compliance and reduce fatigue over long rides. A stable wheelbase preserves fast, confident handling, while Quirk’s proprietary 3D-printed titanium dropouts, head tube and seat cluster complete the chassis.

An Enve In-Route carbon fork, bar and aero stem are hand-painted in white with signature Manchester to London detailing. Brushed titanium paired with clean white accents gives the bike a timeless, purposeful aesthetic worthy of a collector’s piece.

Each bike includes custom white M2L Tailfin top tube and half-frame bags designed specifically for the frame. Riders can travel light with the top tube bag alone or add the half-frame bag for extended storage. Both mount cleanly using recessed bolts and can be removed without disrupting the bike’s lines.

Simon Mottram comments: “Having ridden M2L ten times, I know what I’m looking for in a bike that will carry me 350km in a day. Comfort was the priority, but without sacrificing ride quality or adding weight. Titanium paired with Enve carbon was the obvious solution — light, smooth and efficient. With custom Tailfin bags and a classic finish, this is the perfect bike for riding M2L and it should last me a lifetime.”

Only five Quirk M2L Collector’s Edition framesets will be produced and individually numbered. Lead time is 13 weeks. The price for the frameset and custom luggage is £9,250, with £875 from each acquisition donated to Ambitious about Autism. Allocation is expected to complete quickly.

Orders may be placed via this link to commission one of the five.
