Cambridge-based Quella Bikes is best known for its range of urban fixed-gear bicycles.
The brand has now initiated a new partnership with one of Britain’s most prestigious universities to craft a new model called the Quella Varsity.
The bike was crafted to the same low maintenance and track-inspired specifications as previous models, but features what the brand is calling ‘added refinements and sophistication’. The premium range launched earlier this summer with a starting price of £449.00. The bikes are available for the first time via Quella Bicycles and its network of distributors.
For an extra £100.00 over the standard range, Quella Varsity models feature a number of improvements over the Nero models for those who wish to combine ‘classic single speed riding with first class componentry’ and a brand new range of paint finishes.
Built around an upgraded 4130 frame and fork, the Varsity model features sealed headset bearings, an aluminium 48T crank and a full Quella Premium finishing kit for improved comfort and performance.
Each of the new modelsis inspired by university towns with a paint job reflecting the character of each place: classic Cambridge and Oxford blues, a slate grey on the Edinburgh and a chrome finish reflects London’s hi-tech buildings on the Imperial.
