Powabyke will ship 4,000 of its electric bikes to US distributor Brandsco, which now exclusively handles the brand across the Atlantic.
The move follows a number of European deals, vastly broadening the Brit brand’s reach. Nick Child, Powabyke MD said of the partnership: “I am obviously delighted to secure such a key territory for Powabyke. Last year we presented the new bikes at the Interbike International Bicycle Expo in Las Vegas and both the American public and trade loved our new X-bykes. We are confident The Brandsco PLC will achieve great success there.”
Powabyke has recently launched a new range inclusive of three Mk2 models in the X-range series. The new line are all furnished with 250 watt motors and sleek lightweight cylindrical electric batteries enabling them to travel self propelled, with the twist of a handlebar mounted throttle, between 10 and 20 miles on a single charge.
The firm tells BikeBiz that its UK network now extends to around 400 dealers, which to date have sold over 35,000 Powabykes.
