Cervélo has announced that Phil White, co-founder and current CEO of Cervélo, has become the company’s chairman. Cervélo is part of the Pon Bicycle Group. Cervélo Cycles was founded by White and Gérard Vroomen in 1995.
White also becomes the Innovation Officer for the Pon Bicycle Group.
“This is a perfect role to allow Phil to apply his deep and proven design and innovation knowledge on a broader scale to support the entire Pon Bicycle Group,” said Xeno Grimmelt, senior vice president of Pon Bicycle Group.
“Pon Bicycle Group has an ambitious design and product development agenda over the next few years and we’re delighted Phil is going to be a part of this tremendous opportunity.”
White said:
“I am excited to bring the same focus on innovation to help drive the Pon Bicycle Group, while still providing input to Cervélo’s engineering team."
In the interim, while a successor to White is selected, Robert Reijers, the business development manager for the Pon Bicycle Group will be Cervélo’s acting managing director.
