Pearson 150 Sportive rides again

Pearson Cycles has announced that the 150 Sportive will return thanks to a collaboration with Puncheur, the south coast-based sportive organised by Morgan Lewis.

Scheduled for May 19th 2013, the ride will offer both 75 and 150km routes. In past years the event has raised over £60,000 for the Royal Marsden Cancer charity.

Unlike so many larger companies in the cycle business our relations go on beyond a transaction, and events like this reinforce the importance of personal, face-to-face contact with our customers.

Pearson have tasked Morgan Lewis, of the highly rated Puncheur sportive, whose course also includes the South Downs, to help operate the logistics of the Pearson 150 and 75. This will include services and add-ons such as improved signage, a roving support vehicle, a broader selection of food, and an extra feed stop for the 150 route.They are even trying to negotiate a victory dip in the pool based at the Marsden HQ.

"The boys from Puncheur have a wealth of experience and great attention to detail, which has earned them the popularity to sell out their last three sportives," added Pearson. "We are delighted that Morgan will now add these touches to the Pearson 150 and 75 and encourage riders to join up, raise some much needed cash for the Marsden and most importantly, really enjoy the ride. The course starts and finishes on 19th May at the Royal Marsden in Sutton, with two routes: 150km to Brighton and back, and 75km, which turns back half way to join the latter half of the 150km route home.

Pearson are also supporting a 24 hour ride for the Duchenne Children’s Trust on May 31st. They are expecting presenters Jon Snow and Krishnan Guru-Murthy from C4 news as well as Olympian Jamie Baulch, to be joining the Pearson 150 as part of their final training for their 250-mile ride.
