Pashley announced the expansion of its Classic Collection with the launch of two new e-bike models: the Britannia E & Briton E.
Pashley maintains that both the Britannia E and Briton E retain their original aesthetic DNA with Pashley “skilfully incorporating their e-bike expertise from the recently launched Roadfinder E and Pathfinder E models.” Pashley says they have redesigned the Classic models from scratch to work with Mahle’s powerful and controlled XS30 drive system, whilst maintaining their extensive heritage and reputation for bicycles with clean lines and distinctive ride characteristics.
Handcrafted in their UK-based factory, the team has fused the next generation of Classics with the latest power-assisted technology.
Our loyal customer base has been asking for e-bike versions of our Classics, so it was a natural progression to take these models into the world of e-bikes and create a range which represented the needs of the modern cyclist. ‘Distinctive by nature, different by design’ has been our approach to creating the Pashley range, these new e-bikes takes our Classics to the next level and further enhances our existing portfolio of beautifully hand-crafted bicycles – Andy Smallwood, CEO, Pashley
The team says that by using a carefully considered blend of premium Reynolds steel tubing alongside 3D printed stainless steel lugs, they have created a new, lighter, stronger frame with improved compliance and comfort to provide excellent ride and handling characteristics.
“The challenge was to update Pashley’s classic bicycles with the ease and excitement of electric-assist. A complete redevelopment of our favourite classics, through which we experimented with a multitude of drive systems, transmission options, battery positioning and componentry on a significantly lighter platform has delivered a much-improved ride experience whilst maintaining the essence of a classic Pashley bicycle.” Adds Mark Lloyd, Pashley Designer.
