Outspoken launch Cambridge mechanic training

Outspoken of Cambridge, already a provider of Bikeability training, has added mechanic tutoring to its services.

Delivered from its Cambridge headquarters, Outspoken’s workshop is comprehensibly equipped with Park Tool kit and bespoke work benches.

The new courses will see students become fully accredited bike mechanics. Alongside the usual offerings of evening and weekend home mechanic sessions, Outspoken will also offer regular Velotech Gold courses. Velotech Gold is a trade recognised qualification and is aimed at people that want to work within the cycling industry, people already in the trade and amateurs looking to develop their skills. All Velotech courses carry the approval of the Bicycle Association of Great Britain (BAGB).

Catherine Thompson from Outspoken said: "Cycling is more popular than ever and so it’s incredibly exciting to be able to offer these courses and support the development of the fast growing industry. Our new workshop allows us to offer nationally accredited courses to meet the demands for skilled mechanics in the trade and for enthusiasts to build their skill set."

The course covers everything from puncture repair and tyre replacement to headsets, bottom brackets and spoke replacement leaving attendees well prepared to work on a vast array of bikes.
