Halfords’ Nick Wharton, finance director, is set to leave the company to become chief exec designate of Dunelm Group.
Wharton joined Halfords in in 2002 and became finance director in 2007. He’ll present the firm’s interim results before he leaves.
"Nick has been a fantastic colleague and on behalf of the board I’d like to thank him for his major contribution to our progress,” commented Halfords CEO David Wild.
“Over the last eight years he has played a central role in Halfords’ transition from a subsidiary of Boots, through private equity ownership to become a growing and successful plc. We congratulate him on his appointment and wish him well in his new role.”
