Newly launched fitness platform Muuvr has announced the addition of Jan van Berkel to its growing commercial team.
van Berkel joins Muuvr as European business development manager, working across both business development and partnerships.
Launched to the public in early October, Muuvr is an app looking for new ways to engage directly with athletes, worldwide.
van Berkel’s appointment will build on early momentum in Europe, supported by his extensive list of contacts from more than a decade as a professional triathlete.
Alongside developing Muuvr’s general brand partnerships across Europe, van Berkel will impact the growing choice of sports goods and services that athletes will be able to redeem within the Muuvr Marketplace.
Commenting on his appointment, van Berkel said: “I am really excited to be joining the team at Muuvr. I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact a healthy lifestyle can have on individuals, but at Muuvr, we’re levelling this up, promoting physical activity and motivating people at scale. Muuvr has a unique offering designed to benefit athletes for being more active.
Available for free on iOS and Android, the Muuvr app analyses users’ fitness activities via connections to their favourite fitness tracking platforms, rewarding them with ‘Muuvs’. Muuvs can be redeemed in the Muuvr Marketplace for sporting goods and services from a range of reward partners.
At the time of launch, the partners include events organisers Limelight Sports and Challenge Family, plus sports apparel brand HUUB.
