MTB racers create new helmet brand Miga

Two Israeli MTB racers have created a new helmet brand. Miga will be launched at the Taipei cycle show in November, with availability in 2019. As well as road, XC and e-MTB helmets the brand also has a Velcro-attached speaker which syncs to smartphones by Bluetooth.

The brand was founded by Gahl Cohn and Amit Shita, who both formerly worked for Funkier apparel. The pair are seeking worldwide distributors.

Miga claims that its E1 e-bike helmet meets the new speed-pedelec NTA 8776 helmet standard.

A speed-pedelec assists the rider with pedalling up to a maximum of 45 km/h, and riders have to wear moped-certified helmets. Many cycle helmet manufacturers now supply speed-pedelec helmets which meet the new – and Dutch – NTA 8776 standard.  This was drafted by an international project group under the management of Dutch standards. body NEN. An NTA 8776-certified helmet looks like a bicycle helmet, but protects against higher impact speeds and covers a larger part of the head.
