MD cites lack of innovation and cost hikes

Moore Large shelves Schwinn

Following a strategic review Moore Large has told Pacific Cycle of the US it has resigned as Schwinn distributor for the UK.

Moore Large MD Nigel Moore says: "The decision was taken based on both the difficulties we faced with developing Schwinn brand.

"Despite achieving international distributor awards for the last two years the sales penetration achieved during our tenure fell well short of our aspirations. We have been frustrated with the lack of any inspirational development of the brand and product and disappointed with the rising price structure that has now distanced us from the competition."

Schwinn stock will be cleared out with special offers.

Moore Large will now devote more time to Haro, especially its line-up of new MTBs

"The most exciting development in years for Moore Large will be the reintroduction of the Haro 26-inch," says Moore.

"Haro has made magnificent advances in their comprehensive offering and will add significant credibility to any outlet. Haro has a long history of premium level products with a clear identity and is recognised globally as an IBD-only brand. We have worked with Haro for many years and have found the company dedicated to brand building, development of the product and committed to their distributors."
