Avinox-powered electric mountain bikes are now coming thick and fast, and after Bosch reigned supreme for so long, it’s certainly interesting to see so many big names adopting the system. The most recent of which is Mondraker. The Basque-based bike brand has always been forward thinking and so it may come as no surprise to see the latest bike being released with an Avinox drive unit. The bike? It’s called Zendit. But we can’t tell you everything about it…just yet.
Presented as Mondraker’s flagship eMTB, it’s designed for “aggressive riding on the nastiest climbs and descents,” taking in 11 years of eMTB development and help from the Mondraker Factory Racing development team. Constructed from the ground up with an Avinox drive system, it uses 165mm of rear wheel travel and an MX wheel setup as standard. It also uses Mondraker’s Zero suspension platform, making it one of the most capable bikes Mondraker’s put out so far.

Key highlights:
- The most refined and advanced frame design yet
- Stealth Air Carbon construction
- ZERO suspension platform
- 165mm travel rear, 170mm front
- Evolved FORWARD GEOMETRY
- Adjustable geometry
- The most integrated motor and battery design to date
- MX wheels as standard, full 29” compatible
- Multiple build options available
ZENDIT takes advantage of everything learnt from the MFR DH development team and uses the same pivot system as the new and proven Summum DH frame. With single-size Enduro Max bearings throughout, maintenance becomes easier and two additional rubber seals help the bearings last longer.
Key frame features:
• One-piece carbon rocker
• New twin-sealed bearing system as seen on Summum
• Headtube cable entry
• Moulded internal cable channels (HHG)
• Seamlessly integrated display unit
• Dedicated rubber and plastic frame protectors
• Integrated rear shock mudguard
• New rubber chainstay silencer

As with other bikes over 150mm of rear wheel travel, ZENDIT comes stock with a mixed wheel configuration – it’s the best overall performance for the aggressive riding. But it can easily rock 29’’ wheels for even more climbing capability! ZENDIT features proportional chainstay lengths depending on the sizes. S; M and M/L sizes offer the same 450mm chainstay length, whereas the L and XL models are 5mm longer at 455mm. By slightly adjusting pivot placement in all sizes, the same leverage ratio is achieved throughout. So, no matter what size you need, you get the same ride qualities.
To use 29’’ wheels, there is a lower flip-chip that increases chainstay length by 7mm, but crucially does not have any effect on the suspension kinematics. Bottom Bracket height and key angles remain the same too. And as well as the chainstay adjustment chip to incorporate a rear 29” wheel, there is also a 2 position flip-chip to fine tune the geometry.
The flip chip adjusts the head angle by 0.35° instead of 0.5°, in order to reduce the Bottom Bracket height by 5mm instead of 8mm which would be too much of an overall geometry change.
