Magura has released the Race Pro, a new high-performance disc brake offering high braking power and precise modulation. Forged from aluminium and meticulously CNC-machined, the Race Pro combines high rigidity with a low system weight.

Magura says the Race Pro was developed for use in demanding trail, enduro and downhill riding. Optimised friction characteristics, the tried-and-tested radial master cylinder and a ball-bearing-mounted lever pivot ensure smooth lever operation and reduce the lever effort required. The one-piece forged brake calliper is characterised by high stiffness and ensures direct transmission of braking force to the brake pads, offering consistent performance even under high loads.

In addition to maximum braking performance, Magura says the development process focused in particular on modulation. The Race Pro enables a uniform build-up of force across the entire lever travel to support precise modulation of braking force.

The brand says the wide modulation range makes the transition between maximum grip and loss of control noticeably more predictable and provides greater control precisely when it matters most.

Large-diameter pistons and a high oil volume form the basis for stable braking performance, even on long descents. Through CNC machining of the brake lever and calliper following the forging process, the component design has nevertheless been specifically optimised for weight and stiffness. The combination of a radial master cylinder and axially arranged oil volume also enables a compact design and creates additional space in the cockpit.
