Following the product launch on complete bikes, which began in 2024, Magura is now starting to sell the Gustav Pro for retrofitting.
In North America, and other countries, the Gustav Pro is now available for pre-order and will be available as a standard single brake from April/May. The brand highlights that the single brake will be introduced in the EU “in the near future”.
With the limited First Edition set – only available in Europe – the brand offers “everything needed for retrofitting: two single brakes, MDR-S 2.5 brake rotors, adapters and ETT parts for shortening the hoses”.

More miles – less worries.
With the Gustav, Magura has doubled the time interval until brake maintenance is needed. This is in part possible through the use of “extra thick brake pads with 40% more volume combined with thick 2.5 mm rotors with a 2.1 mm wear limit.”
When riders do need to go to the workshop – “a large air gap between the pad and the rotor, plus a new bleeding valve make many tasks a lot easier.”
Magura installation technology
With the Magura Easy Link the brand offers “a simple plug-and-play connection of the brake line.” Workshop technicians and riders who use Magura ABS components and the Magura Cockpit Integration will likely already be familiar with this technology.
In the Gustav Pro, Magura has integrated Easy Link, for the first time, invisibly into the brake master of a disc brake – so it is now possible to disconnect and connect a brake hose from and to the brake master at any time, without special tools.
