Sales made on new consumer sites will direct orders to dealers

Madison launches GoPro and Pearl Izumi e-commerce initiative

Madison has unveiled a new partnership with Shopatron that offers consumers the ability to purchase directly from the UK GoPro and Pearl Izumi websites.

Both and (launching later this week) are new consumer sites, where consumers can view and purchase a wide range of GoPro and Pearl Izumi products.

Consumer order fulfilment will be directed to Madison’s exisiting authorised dealer base, with participating stockists informed daily of orders placed via each website, providing local stockists the chance to fulfil the order if the items are available either from their stock or via a Madison B2B order. The dealer then dispatches the customer’s goods as they would with regular online/mail orders, with the dealer fulfilling the order and receiving the funds for the transaction directly from Shopatron.

The initiative is set to boost sales, said Madison. Studies have shown that 58 per cent of consumers begin product research on the manufacturer’s website or their country’s own distributor site, so through the new partnership with Shopatron, the distributor expects to immediately capture these consumers, converting their interest into sales whilst simultaneously driving business to dealers.

"For many years Madison has tried to come up with a workable solution to direct consumer product demand to a local retailer," explained Madison CEO Dominic Langan. "This was the entire premise behind Ultimate Pursuits but I think we were ahead of the curve at that particular moment in time and although we learnt a great deal we have been looking for a workable alternative ever since. We believe Shopatron could now be the answer."

Becoming a fulfilment partner with Shopatron incurs no cost with only a small transaction fee deducted from each sale, said Madison. Participants in the programme are paid twice monthly for any orders they’ve processed. All credit card fraud risk and initial UK based customer care is covered by Shopatron.

Madison added: "Participation in this new initiative will give dealers the opportunity to turn inventory quicker, acquire new customers, as well as gain visibility into local and national sales trends, allowing retailers to effectively stock in-demand product lines.

"This is a fantastic opportunity that is designed to strengthen and expand our dealers and grow sales with no risk or additional financial outlay."

Authorised GoPro or Pearl Izumi dealers, will be sent sign-up information directly via email.
