Welsh bike security firm Litelok has launched its latest lock, the Silver.
Coming in three different and wearable sizes, the firm claims it is the “world’s lightest” silver-rated bike lock range. It features a lock housing made from hardened aerospace steel alloy, which is combined with Litelok’s patented Boaflexicore material. This results in locks that are 40% to 50% lighter than silver-equivalent U and D locks, chains and armoured cables, Litelok has claimed.
The locks share the same flexibility as the firm’s Gold range, and the range features a vertical locking and unlocking mechanism. Its launch was enabled by a crowdfunding campaign.
The Litelok Silver range is available exclusively through Litelok.com until June, when it will also be available via Evans stores and the website. From 1st July, it will also be available for all IBDs to stock. The three different sizes are 52cm (weighing 630g), 70cm (730g) and 85cm (830g).
If bought from the firm’s website, the Silver is also covered by Litelok’s Theft Protection Scheme. When secured with a Litelok, the scheme will pay for the replacement of any stolen bike anywhere in the world, subject to terms and conditions.
