Leasing-Check, the new industry service provided by DiBike, is gaining momentum ahead of its nationwide launch in Germany. Twelve company bike leasing providers are now supporting the service as funding partners. In addition, two major retail organizations, BIKE&CO and VSF, are making the service available to their member companies, giving around 1,100 specialist bicycle retailers and workshops access to Leasing-Check.
Leasing-Check is designed to simplify daily service and workshop processes in Germany’s company bike leasing market. Bicycle retailers and workshops currently have to deal with many different leasing providers, portals, service packages and budget models. This creates unnecessary complexity, especially when a customer comes in with a leased bike and the workshop first needs to clarify which leasing provider is responsible, whether the contract is active and which service entitlements apply.
The new service addresses this problem with a standardized, read-only check. Leasing-Check shows which leasing provider is responsible for a leased bike, whether the contract is active and which service information is available in the specific case. This helps retailers and workshops clarify more quickly whether service, maintenance or wear-and-tear work can currently be carried out under the leasing contract.
The project is also progressing technically. The API for leasing providers has been published and forms the basis for standardized provider integrations. The interface for ERP and dealer management systems is currently in final review as a release candidate and is scheduled to be published next week.
“Leasing-Check shows how open industry infrastructure becomes useful in practice when retailers, leasing providers and software partners work together from an early stage,” says Nick Becker, Managing Director of DiBike. “With twelve participating leasing providers, the published provider API and the first retail organizations on board, the foundation for the launch is in place. The next steps are preparing retailer registration and moving system integrations forward.”
“The benefit for retailers is obvious. VSF has therefore closely supported the development of Leasing-Check and will make access to the tool available to its members free of charge,” says Sandra Appel, board member of VSF and owner of Pedalwerk Baunatal.
Retailer registration is scheduled to start in July. A beta phase with initial leasing providers and ERP systems will follow in August, before Leasing-Check goes live nationwide in Germany on September 1, 2026. On September 4, 2026, the service will be presented at the BIKE&CO-Orderfestival in Kassel, where retailers can learn more about Leasing-Check and see the application live. Additional retail organizations, buying groups and dealer networks can join the initiative.
