Lazer has introduced what it is calling “the latest evolution in mountain bike protection” with the launch of its new Impala KinetiCore.
This new model debuts DualCore technology, building on over a decade of research and the success of Lazer’s award-winning KinetiCore technology, to offer “a groundbreaking advancement that elevates safety and performance to new heights”.
DualCore is a unique two-layer EPS construction comprised of a softer, low-density inner layer that provides enhanced protection against rotational impacts, while the harder, high-density outer layer is engineered to absorb direct impacts. Together, these two layers form a unified structure “designed for uncompromising safety and comfort on every ride”.
“DualCore is the next generation of impact management,” said Peter Duynslaeger, General Manager at Lazer. “By integrating two densities of EPS in a single helmet design, we’ve created a smarter, lighter, and safer system that delivers superior protection where riders need it most.”
The Impala KinetiCore continues Lazer’s legacy of innovation, offering built-in rotational impact protection through Controlled Crumple Zones. These zones strategically deform under pressure to redirect energy away from the head, resulting in a helmet that’s both lighter and stronger while improving ventilation and reducing plastic use.
Performance meets practicality
Beyond its advanced safety features, the Impala KinetiCore has been designed “with every detail focused on enhancing the rider’s experience”. Lazer incorporates recycled straps and a convenient magnetic buckle for effortless everyday comfort, making it easy to secure even with cold hands or gloves on.
An integrated camera mount system is seamlessly built into the helmet’s design, with a groove on the top of the helmet ensuring you always get the perfect shot. It’s also engineered so that the mount will snap off on impact, helping to reduce rotational forces during a crash.
For further protection and adaptability, the helmet features a three-position breakaway visor that adjusts effortlessly and detaches under heavy impact to protect the rider’s neck.

A rear grippy panel keeps goggles firmly in place, preventing unwanted movement and maintaining clear vision on demanding descents.
The adjustable floating headband ensures a precise, personalised fit, while optimised ventilation provides lasting comfort, no matter the weather or terrain.
Riders can also rely on the integrated RECCO rescue reflector, which allows them to be searchable by rescuers without requiring batteries or activation. With its safety-driven design, sustainable materials, and rider-informed innovation, the Impala KinetiCore represents “the next step in Lazer’s journey to create the world’s most advanced and trusted cycling helmets”.
