Cycle finishes in top 50 at Tour de France Prologue

Lapierre TT bike heading to retail?

A consumer version of the new Lapierre Time Trial bike, which debuted at Dauphiné Libéré and appeared at this year’s Tour de France Prologue, could be set to appear at retail, according to trade sources.

A consumer version of the bike – which finished in the top 50 at the Rotterdam Prologue at the start of July – appears likely to form part of the Lapierre 2011 road range.

Meeting strict UCI restrictions, the Time Trial bike is lightweight, aerodynamic and doesn’t compromise stiffness, according to Lapierre. The model sports a carbon HM fibre frame with aerodynamic tubes, the frame weighing 1250g.

Lapierre has revealed that it is possible to insert the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 battery inside the frame.
