Lance beats stiff competition from the Hoff, Stephen Fry and Oprah Winfrey to be rated top Celebrity Twitterer

Lance Armstrong is ‘king of the Twitters’

According to the Celebrity Twitter Directory bookazine, cycling legend Lance Armstrong has been rated as ‘Twitter King’.

Rated on star power, entertainment value and ‘Tweet frequency’, Armstrong was judged to be the best celebrity using the service.

Armstrong beat fellow Twitterati Stephen Fry, David Hasselhoff, Eminem, Oprah Winfrey and Janet Jackson to take the recently created title.

Twitter has been used fairly extensively by various quarters of the cycle world, with it proving a force for protest against James Martin’s cyclist hating Daily Mail article, and even to help fight cycle crime.

BikeBiz has been compiling a list of over 700 Twitter feeds from cycle industry companies and people.
