Kostüme, the British pre-order-based apparel brand, has launched Version 2.0 of its Size Guide, with the business viewing this as a key step in further reducing returns and improving the customer experience.

With a return rate of just 2%, compared to industry averages often in the 30% + range, the brand already delivers apparel industry-leading performance

Kostüme’s ambition is to bring that number down to zero, completely eliminating wasted resources and disappointed customers – ensuring customers can buy with confidence and receive the full Kostüme performance benefit.

Speaking about Size Guide V2.0, founder Ed Bartlett comments: “The biggest cause of returns remains incorrect sizing, so we spent two full days in the studio shooting every size of our best-selling bib shorts on a diverse range of bodies. Not just the ‘ideal’ ones you tend to see in adverts, but real customers – each with their own uniquely individual proportions.

“Our new size guide is now live, allowing you to visually compare not just measurements but also body types. Because when we say ‘Made to Matter’ we really mean it – from how we produce our kit, to how we help you find the perfect fit. Let us know if we got it right or if there is more we could do!”

With fit representing a critical performance element of cycling apparel, the brand has built its name and reputation on kit designed for Audax and multi-day long distance cycling, ensuring that Kostüme products are “highly tailored to focus on ultimate comfort across a wide range of body styles”.

Unlike many traditional brands, Kostüme is committed to developing tools and practices that put customers first and reduce environmental impact. The brand continues to aim high, with more exciting developments in the pipeline.

Here, Bartlett states: “With our limited resources, Size Guide 2.0 might have taken longer than we hoped, but we’ve always believed our goal was achievable – which raises the question: Why aren’t bigger brands doing the same? They don’t care about returns because overproduction and writing off stock is just business as usual.”
