Kenesis and Morvelo organise a spin up in a brewery

Kinesis Bikes UK, Morvélo Bicycle Apparel and Dark Star Brewery have created ‘Spin up in a Brewery’, unsurprisingly designed to appeal to cyclists, beer lovers, or both.

Bringing static, or ‘roller racing’, to a brewery is a first according to the Sussex-based trio. James Cuthbertson of Dark Star Brewery teamed-up with fellow Partridge Green residents, Kinesis Bikes and Brighton-based Morvélo to launch the event.

“When the guys at Kinesis suggested it, we thought why not, many of our fans are cyclists, so I’m sure it will be popular," said Cuthbertson. "That and the fact that we’re located so close to the South Downs Link, one of the south’s best cycling routes should make for a great event.”

Kinesis UK’s Dom Mason added: “Dark Star are long term sponsors of The ‘Kinesis Morvélo Project’ [KMP] and this joint cycle team between Kinesis Bikes UK and Morvélo Bicycle Apparel embodies the thrill of racing without taking life too seriously. So we decided that we should combine forces again to bring together all those that love to ride, race, drink and eat. All under one roof."

As well as trying roller racing, those attending can enjoy a wide range of beers, shop at the cycling stalls and enjoy a BBQ. There will also be spot prizes throughout the day as well as a prize bundle, with combined swag from Dark Star, Kinesis UK and Morvélo for the winning rider.

The event will he held this weekend on Saturday May 26th from 15:00 – 20:00 at the Dark Star Brewery in Partridge Green.

Tickets are on sale from between £5 and £8 (inc transfers from Brighton), must be purchased in advance and include a free pint and a discount off a wide range of cycling goods available on the day. Places are limited, so early booking is advised.
