Kelsey Media has announced the acquisition of a portfolio of cycling magazines and digital media brands from Bristol-based publishers, Our Media, marking a significant expansion of its presence within the cycling, fitness and active lifestyle sector.
The acquisition includes market-leading digital brand BikeRadar as well as print brands Cycling Plus and MBUK along with associated digital assets, communities, newsletters, and content archives.
The transaction strengthens Kelsey Media’s position as a leading publisher and media business, serving cycling enthusiasts, consumers, industry partners, and advertisers across print, digital, social and video.
Steve Kendall, Chief Executive of Kelsey Media, said:
“This acquisition represents an exciting milestone for our business and demonstrates our confidence in the long-term strength of the cycling market. These brands have built trusted relationships with passionate audiences over many years.
Cycling continues to attract highly engaged communities, and we are committed to delivering exceptional content and experiences that inform, inspire, and connect riders. We will look to invest in audience engagement, digital innovation, events, memberships, and new commercial opportunities.
Our goal is to invest for future growth, support editorial excellence, and create new opportunities for readers, advertisers, and commercial partners alike.”
The acquired titles and websites collectively reach millions of cycling enthusiasts, covering road cycling, mountain biking, commuting, e-bikes, cycling technology, gear reviews, training, events, and industry news.
Andy Marshall, Chief Executive of Our Media, added, “After a strategic review earlier this year, we reluctantly came to the decision that our cycling portfolio would be better served with a new owner. It is a brilliant set of market-leading brands with a fantastic team, and we are very pleased to have found a good home for them at Kelsey Media where we know BikeRadar, Cycling Plus and MBUK will continue to serve the cycling community and enjoy a great future.”
The acquisition forms part of Kelsey Media’s broader growth strategy focused on acquiring and developing specialist media brands with strong communities and market-leading audience engagement.
The portfolio will be led by Managing Director Oswin Grady, who says, “As a keen cyclist myself, I’m excited to have the opportunity to work on these brilliant brands that deliver the very best in cycling content. I’m looking forward to working with our hugely talented team as well as partners across the industry.”
