EXPERIENCED BIKE MECHANIC

City Cycle London – Covent Garden, Central London

Position: Full-time (35-40 hours/week, Monday to Friday)

Location: Covent Garden, WC2

Rate: From £15/hr (DOE)

Required Experience: Minimum 4 years bicycle workshop experience

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Bicycle Mechanic to work directly alongside our Workshop Manager. You’ll be hands-on with a diverse, high-spec range of bikes, from custom high-end carbon road and gravel builds to premium commuters and modern e-bikes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Servicing & Diagnostics: Perform precision health checks, fault finding, and repairs across mechanical, electronic (Di2/AXS), and hydraulic systems.
• Custom Builds & Tuning: Assemble premium bikes from the ground up to strict Shimano Service Centre standards.
• Workshop Operations: Work alongside the Workshop Manager on job scoping, stock control, and maintaining an efficient workshop.
• Customer Interaction: Deliver clear, expert technical advice and friendly customer handovers.

About You

We hold our workshop to exceptional commercial standards, this is not an entry-level role.

• 4+ Years Commercial Experience (Essential): Must have continuous experience in a busy retail/commercial workshop. 
• Technical Mastery: Fully competent in modern drivetrains, electronic shifting, hydraulics, wheel building, and e-bikes. Cytech Level 2/3 is desirable.
• Mindset: Methodical, attentive to detail, adaptable, and a strong team player.
