THE ROLE We’re looking for a Workshop Mechanic with bags of enthusiasm for cycling to join our growing business. Duties will include: Primarily, performing repairs, maintenance, new builds, and warranties. Jobs will be as varied as 3 speed shoppers to a full Di2 build and on to Ebike repairs Maintaining excellent communication with customers (either on the phone, in person, or by email) Making sure all customers leave happy with either their new bikes or serviced bikes. Keeping the work space clean and tidy as it will often be on show to customers Able to break off from jobs (to take calls, etc) and come back effectively Having fun and getting stuck in with our already excellent team! THE PERSON This role is geared towards the experienced mechanic, getting stuck in from Day One. Training on how the systems work and our way of working will be done but we are ideally looking for a candidate who will be working self sufficiently on the job. The ability to deliver exceptional service is essential and you must have experience in a customer-facing role. You must have at least some relevant experience in bike stores and being Cytech trained would be advantageous. It is also an advantage to have a comprehensive knowledge of current technology from hydraulic disc brakes to electronic gears and E-bikes. You will need to be able to work independently, efficiently and with excellent time management. A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and further your knowledge is essential. You will need to be a natural communicator and able to discuss and appreciate customers’ cycling aspirations, and to thrive on the demands of a busy workshop environment.
