Introduction:\r\n\r\nWe are looking for an experienced mechanic to take on the role of Workshop Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our in-house workshop, as well as managing our mechanic team and being the go-to technical guru. The role will also include supporting the General Manager and Program Coordinator in the day-to-day running of various bike maintenance services including off-site servicing and bike maintenance training.\r\n\r\nWe run a range of services to encourage more cycling both for leisure and fun. As part of a small team there is plenty of scope to make this role your own. We offer fun cycle-themed event activities, Dr Bike sessions, maintenance training and pool bike packages. Our customers include businesses, local authorities, schools and community groups, as well as individuals. Whatever it is, we\u2019re here to encourage people to cycle!\r\n\r\nJob purpose:\r\n\r\nTo run the in-house workshop including:\r\n\r\n \tEnsuring that workshop bookings are correctly scheduled\u00a0\r\n \tOverseeing that all repairs are performed in a timely manner and to a high standard\u00a0\r\n \tTraining mechanics in procedures and process, both for repair plus admin\u00a0\r\n \tEnsuring profitability\u00a0\r\n \tProvide outstanding customer service\r\n\r\nAssist the Program Coordinator in:\r\n\r\n \tAllocating mechanics to off site jobs\u00a0\r\n \tInsuring that repairs are performed to standard\u00a0\r\n\r\nOversee the mechanic team:\r\n\r\n \tManage the current team, including, but not limited to: holiday allocation, HR and scheduling\u00a0\r\n \tAssist the General Manager and Program Coordinator with recruitment\u00a0\r\n\r\nMain duties and responsibilities:\r\n\r\n \tBe the go to person for all technical questions and issues\u00a0\r\n \tTo manage the workshop bookings and repair scheduling\u00a0\r\n \tLine manage the team of mechanics including, but not limited to: holiday scheduling, reviews and HR\u00a0\r\n \tMaintaining an efficient and clean workshop\r\n \tInsuring the profitability of the on site workshop and standards are maintained\u00a0\r\n \tBe the technical person for all repairs and maintenance\r\n \tTrack and order inventory for the workshop and customer repairs\u00a0\r\n \tWork closely with the Program Coordinator to schedule mechanics for external jobs\r\n \tBook in stock to our EPOS system when required\r\n \tGive support to the Shop Manager and the rest of the team as required\r\n\r\nPerson Specification\r\n\r\nWho we are looking for:\r\n\r\nWe are looking for a driven individual who is great with customers and a very technically capable mechanic. You will need to be used to allocating your time efficiently and working under time constraints.\r\n\r\nAs part of a small team you will need to be dynamic, organised and a great communicator.\r\n\r\nWe are a small business and all need to chip in where there is need.
