JOB DESCRIPTION – National Account Manager

LOCATION – Saddleback Limited, Yate, Bristol

RESPONSIBLE TO Commercial Director 


Saddleback is the UK home of cycling’s leading performance brands including Castelli, ENVE, Troy Lee Designs, Stages and Sidi. The role of the National Account Manager is to manage, in conjunction with the Commercial director, the day-to-day running of our largest retail partners and provide a level of customer service synonymous with Saddleback. The role will also benefit from the support of our National Account Administrators. The ideal candidate will be an established presence within the industry excellent, have great interpersonal skills, be good with numbers, have a forensic eye for detail and motivated to help nurture and grow these accounts. 


1.National Account Manager:

  • Maximise the sale of elite performance products within the Saddleback portfolio in line with company targets.
  • Build and deliver a sales and support strategy for each National Account retailer.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with retailers, building relationships with all key staff from CEO downwards.
  • Support all National Accounts in the delivery of product, information, marketing, and any other material that ensures maximum exposure and sales of Saddleback brands.
  • Identify brand presentation initiatives, maintaining brand presentation and experience to the highest possible standards.
  • Coordinate all communication and activities between Saddleback, its brands, and National Account Retailers.
  • Ensure marketing campaigns are created in line with brand plans at Saddleback.
  • Ensure all Saddleback and brand activities that support Retailers are delivered in a timely, accurate and complete manner
  • Represent the company values of Saddleback and be a brand ambassador in all contact with retailers and brands.
  • Coordinate and prioritise work of the National Accounts Administrator(s).

2.National Accounts Administration – ad hoc support

  • Work in partnership with National Accounts Administrator(s) to ensure all retailers are served to optimum level.
  • Placing orders for national accounts – Support placing and management of orders, and flow of deliveries.
  • Review national account backorders and share reports as appropriate.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance and sharing of national account item master templates to enable product set up and ordering.

About You 

  • Proven experience in national account management
  • Advanced Excel skills would be very useful along with a good knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience of working with a good ERP would also be advantageous
  • A love of road cycling and mountain biking would be greatly beneficial but not essential. 
  • Ability to produce exceptional work within tight time parameters. 
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Confident in presenting strategies and influencing key decision-makers. 
  • Full clean driving license.
