About the role We have been increasingly focused on developing our digital marketing capabilities; social media, email and website, and we are looking for someone to help implement further improvements. The digital marketing executive will look after all our social media activity across multiple channels, speaking to over 100,000 followers. You will also be responsible for setting up and running social media advertising and contributing to outbound email marketing activity. Working as part of the marketing team we operate a relaxed, creative environment where we deliver stylish and engaging marketing campaigns which enhance our brands and excite our retailer partners and their customers. Reporting to: Marketing Manager Key responsibilities Manage our social media profiles and presence – in particular on Facebook and Instagram (but also Twitter, YouTube and other relevant platforms) to grow our following and influence, and to engage with our customers and fans of our brands. Create and manage a calendar of social media activity by sourcing or creating content from across the business or brands and curating content from interesting sources (events, sponsored riders etc.) relevant to our customers. Manage the delivery of outbound email communications – work with marketing colleagues to write, design, send and monitor email campaigns. Keep our customer database lists up to date and efficiently organised – seek ways of cleaning, developing and expanding our lists in line with business requirements Work with the sales and marketing teams (sales reps, brand development manager, brand managers and tech support) to amplify the impact of other marketing communications, PR, events and sales activity through social and outbound email campaigns. With the marketing manager, identify key reporting metrics and take responsibility for regular reporting on digital marketing activity. Ensure insights from social data are regularly shared with the marketing team. Manage the planning, creation and monitoring of social media advertising campaigns (Facebook and Instagram) as well as search campaigns (Google Ads). Handle enquiries and comments from our followers and customers on social media in a professional, polite and prompt manner. Work with marketing teams at our partner brands to leverage their digital marketing and social media followings to amplify our messages and campaigns. Skills and experience required Key skills Passion and knowledge of mountain biking, the brands, the riders, the races. Knowledge of social media either in running your own channel(s) or better still, social media experience within a fast-paced business environment. Flexibility; willingness to attend events, races and work weekends where necessary to deliver quality and timely content. Skilled at creating engaging content across a range of social media platforms. Can-do, action-oriented attitude with a friendly, approachable style. Creative, well organised and self-motivated. Good written communication and attention to detail. Numerate and analytical, capable of understanding and presenting data in a simple to understand way. Computer literate, tech-savvy, familiarity with using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Desirable skills Whilst MTB knowledge is key, knowing the Tour de France from the Tour de Yorkshire and Weston Beach Race from the MXGP would be an advantage. Experience of looking at social media analytic tools and insights to understand users and their interaction to our content. Experience of creating, implementing and monitoring email campaigns and familiarity with third-party systems such as MailChimp. Familiarity with the Facebook Ads platform – experience of setting up and running campaigns.
