Decathlon York is our new store set to open in October 2022, located on Monks Cross Shopping Park in the north of York. This is a truly exciting opportunity to be part of our York store opening project where you will be joining a brand new team and building a new customer base in the city.

As a Bike Mechanic in our workshop you’ll be providing high quality bike maintenance and repair services to help our customers enjoy their bikes for longer. To put it simply, the purpose of your role is to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems whilst ensuring that your customers receive the best experience in the process. You’ll also be involved in recycling and repairing defective bikes in-store, which means that you’ll play an integral part in achieving our collective mission to help preserve our planet.

What’s involved?

Who are you?

  • Cytech certified or experienced in bike repairs and maintenance.

Additional Information:

Location: Decathlon York will be situated onMonks Cross Shopping Park, YO32 9GX.

Start Date: 21th September 2022

Hourly Rate: £7.00 – £9.50 (depending on age). If you hold a Cytech qualification your hourly rate will be as follows: Cytech Level 2 (£7.70 – £10.45). Cytech Level 3: (£8.05 – £10.92).

Please note for successful candidates there will be a two week training from 21th September in either our Sheffield / Leeds store as this is prior to the York store opening.

As a Bike Mechanic, you will be required to work usual retail hours including evenings and weekends. The role will be shop-floor based with full Covid-19 safety regulations and precautions in place. The safety of our teammates and customers is our main priority during these times.
