PAU RUN & RIDE TRENTHAM - CYCLE MECHANIC/DEPUTY STORE MANAGER (FULL TIME) PAU Run & Ride’s flagship store at Trentham Shopping Village is on the look out for an experienced Cycle Mechanic with supervisory experience; someone who can share the work load with our existing on site mechanic and with the wider cycle maintenance team based at our Audlem and Blakemere stores, and who can deputise for our store manager when they’re off shift. We have a small, family oriented team at the store where we sell high quality bikes, cycle accessories and clothing, all manner of running shoes, accessories and clothing and a variety of tools to help keep customer bikes in tip top condition. We're immensely proud to deliver a world class service and repair proposition with a strong focus on customer service excellence, so we’re looking for a dedicated and highly motivated person to fill the position. The successful candidate will be based at our Trentham Store and addition to undertaking mechanical servicing tasks, will also help deal with customers on the shop floor, making sales, upselling and cross selling accessories, and pitch in with other general duties as and when the need arises, and when the store manager isn’t around, will deputise and keep the store running smoothly. You’ll be an important member of our team as we continue to grow our presence and establish PAU Run & Ride as the cycle shop of choice in all our locations. Our team will always seek to drive awareness of our servicing and repair proposition both in the local community and on social media, with the objective of achieving service center and sales targets, whilst consistently exceeding customer expectations and your ideas and input could help us make a difference. You’ll also need to be Cytech 2 qualified (or equivalent), hold a full, clean UK driving licence and be able to drive a transit van. You’ll need to be highly self-motivated, hugely knowledgeable about bicycles and keen to build a reputation for our brand - trust and credibility are key as you’ll be an integral part of the team. Job Details: A full time, permanent role of approx 40 hours per week delivered over 7 days on a rotating shift pattern and including weekends and bank holidays (on rota, typically working 5 days out of 7), with occasional evenings to support seasonal opening. Annual leave entitlement of 28 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays. As part of a small team, commitment and flexibility are essential. Salary Expectations: Starting salary £23,000 per annum with scope to increase in line with responsibility, and negotiable for the right candidate. Responsibilities and Duties Deliver an outstanding level of service with both planned and on the spot repairs Demonstrate appropriate product knowledge and advise on necessary repair work, parts and costs Maintain customer confidence by keeping accurate records of repairs in progress and providing regular communication to customers on the status of their repairs Align with all store and workshop related compliance processes Collaborate with colleagues to maximise the use of workshop spaces, keeping a clean, tidy and efficiently run environment and collaborate with mechanics in our other stores as required. Support the day to day management of the workshop inventory, spare parts, consumables and accessories Collect and deliver bikes as required Assemble new bikes, adjusting fit to suit customer needs Contribute to the marketing and promotion of the store and the cycle repair and servicing proposition locally using various social media platforms. Greet clients in store with enthusiasm and establish rapport to quickly and efficiently identify their needs Support and deputise for the store manager as and when required Address customer feedback resolving queries quickly and efficiently Maintain personal knowledge of relevant industry updates associated with the cycle technician role Support colleagues with coaching and knowledge sharing to maximise efficiency and enhance customer experience. Other store duties as directed by the store manager. Essential: Must be Cytech/NVQ Cycle Maintenance Level 2 accredited or equivalent Min 3 years experience of staff supervision Experience of working in a retail/customer service environment Driven, self motivated and passionate about cycling Great communication skills and outstanding attention to detail Strong organisational skillset Be a team player, self-motivated and able to use own initiative.
